Personally, I am not particularly fond of highly competitive activities, but I genuinely cherish the time I have spent with my dragon boat team during my university years. It is not just my love for the sport that has kept me involved, but also the camaraderie and the sense of happiness that comes from paddling together. Dragon boating has transformed me from being introverted to confident. I hope to provide a platform at Tsinghua University where others can also experience the benefits I have gained from dragon boating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our training mainly consists of strength training through gym sessions and technical training on the actual dragon boat in water facilities off-campus. However, considering that our team members are ordinary students with busy academic and research schedules, we have designed a training schedule that accommodates everyone’s time constraints. Each day, we focus on training different parts of the body. On Tuesdays, we incorporate running to improve cardiovascular fitness. At the end of each land training session, we engage in collective core exercises. Fridays are dedicated to free training, allowing individuals to focus on specific areas or make up for missed sessions. In addition to our regular training, we also organize team-building activities such as cycling outings. Last month, we had a picnic at the Olympic Forest Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My hope for the upcoming year is twofold. Firstly, I aim to increase the awareness and presence of our Dragon Boat Team within the Tsinghua University community. I want to expand our influence and build a strong, united family centered around dragon boating. It should not be limited to just a sport, but a platform where individuals can develop their interests, forge friendships, and experience various aspects of life together. Secondly, as a competitive team, we strive to achieve better results in the upcoming season. During the selection process, we prioritize physical fitness, but we also provide opportunities for individuals who may not possess outstanding physical qualities but are passionate about joining the dragon boat team and actively participating in training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
